Le coureur des bois et le Nutshimiu-innu screened at the Cité des Arts

Director Éli Laliberté will be in attendance at the 18th edition of the Cinema on the Bayou festival in Lafayette, Louisiana (January 25–February 1), to screen his documentary film Le Coureur des bois et le Nutshimiu-innu.

A new collaboration between Louisiana’s Cinema on the Bayou festival and the Gaspésie’s Percéides festival—Action Lousiane-Gaspésie 2023—will see films from the Gaspésie being showcased on the Friday evening (January 27).

SYNOPSIS
In Le Coureur des bois et le Nutshimiu-innu, director Éli Laliberté follows Clément and Tekuanan into the depths of the forest and their very way of life. One venturing as a modern-day “coureur des bois” into the wilds, the other returning to Nutshimit, his ancestral homeland. The film will be screened at the Cité des Arts on January 27, 2023.
