Aoskway, sur les traces de l’orignal is a documentary by Brad Gros-Louis, a young Wendat artist driven by a desire to share his love and passion for the moose, a highly symbolic animal in his culture. This film follows Brad as he journeys through the Réserve faunique de Portneuf with his non-Indigenous friends on a quest for the animal; along the way, he shares his knowledge of this ancestral practice. During their expedition, they’ll talk about their views on hunting, the passing on of traditions, their past experiences and their profound respect for this sacred animal. More than just a portrayal of a traditional moose hunt, this film delivers a powerful message about the links forged between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people and the wealth of our natural environment.
