2008
Allahabad, India, January 2007 : 50 million Indians converge along the Ganges for the world’s biggest gathering: the Kumbha Mela pilgrimage. Amongst the sea of faithful Hindus, two brothers who come from elsewhere experience something which will forge strong links forever. In the midst of a megalopolis of tents, erected along the banks of the Ganges, two Quebecers make an acquaintance with a man who lets them explore the private world of Hinduism, a mixture of piety and exuberance, prayers and hashish. For them, this Brahmin (member of a scholarly caste) will become the bridge between two incredibly different cultures. It is a tale of friendship and brotherhood, where any question may be raised. It is also a story of deep respect, within a quasi-surreal setting, where foreign lands provide a never-ending source for self-discovery.
